Bump - 6 weeks & 13 weeks

Many of you that are not able to see me on a regular basis have asked if I have a bump yet. Well, here's what I looked like at 6 weeks pregnant.

And....here's what I looked like last week at 13 weeks:

Schneider Visit

Last weekend we invited two of our favorite couples from Houston that I'm sure most of you have heard Casey or I talk about: Kristi/Josh and Kim/Gaven/Ty. However, Kristi and Josh were unable to come due to their schedules being crazy, but we were graced with the presence of Kim, Gaven and Baby Ty. They arrived Thursday night from Houston and we had a fun filled Louisiana weekend planned for them. Needless to say, Kim definitely surprised me by bringing 4 delicious cupcakes (1-strawberry, 2-red velvet and 1-chocolate) from Crave in Houston and, even better, she gave me company in eating them. It's like music to a pregnant lady's ears!

Anyway, we caught up with one another Thursday night then left early Friday morning to go crabbing in Pointe Au Chien. We ended up catching 4.5 dozen crabs then coming back to our house to boil them that night. Saturday the boys played golf while the girls (Annie, Kim and me) enjoyed some fun at the neighborhood pool with our main man Ty. By the way, it was Ty's first time at a big pool and he definitely enjoyed the water. Once the boys were done playing golf, they joined us at the pool and then we all went to The Chimes for supper. The picture below is of the gang coming out of The Chimes.

Us Louisianaians take this for granted, but our friends from Houston were just shocked, stunned, amazed at the fact that you can bring alcohol out of a restaurant, they thought it was the coolest thing. We topped off the night by bringing them through a drive-through Daiquiri shop and getting them daiquiri's and cherry's soaked in Everclear. Bet y'all can't guess who the designated driver was that night? No, just kidding, we are ALL very responsible people. So we sadly said goodbye to the Schneider's Sunday morning and look forward to our next visit with them and the Evans' in Houston.

Second Appointment

So...Casey and I just returned from our second appointment, everything went very well! We got to hear the baby's heartbeat and it was amazing to hear the pitter-patter of his/her little heart. Dr. Sherman said it was between 150 and 160 beats per minute (I made sure to remember Kim). At first Casey and I both got a little nervous because we didn't hear anything but were very relieved to hear it shortly after. I have gained 2 lbs. in the last month, which Dr. Sherman says is just fine. She let us know that all of my labs came back normal and answered ALL of the questions that I had. Our next appointment is in another month (July 1st) and I will be almost 17 weeks at that time, but she said that will be almost too soon to find out what the sex of the baby is. Therefore, we will have to wait 8 more weeks from now until my visit at the end of July (I will be almost 21 weeks) and we will do the big ultrasound and we will find out the sex of the baby.

At this stage in my pregnancy the baby is about the size of a medium shrimp and is 3" long and weighs about an ounce. I am starting to get a little bitty bump but most of all my waistline is just getting thicker, I will post a picture soon hopefully but you probably won't notice much difference. Aside from that, I feel great. I have had no nausea and (knock on wood) have not been sick thus far and this week (starting tomorrow, 13th week) is the last week of my first trimester, yeah! Tootles.....
